Commercial Foundation Investigation

Prior to investing millions in this structure Torello Engineers was hired by a real estate investor to examine the foundation due to concerns of damp conditions.

Our subsequent investigation revealed a recent modification to the foundation that posed a future threat to the building. A recent decision to add 4 feet of fill to the basement to raise the floor level above flood level left the wooden support columns submerged in wet soil. Our report detailed the existing conditions together with general recommendations for corrective action that will provide for the longevity of the building.
